Providing Air Travel Facilities to Personnel of Armed Forces

In consideration of various proposals from Army Headquarters, sanction has been accorded for hiring of 648 charter flights per year to extend Air Travel facility to personnel in Armed Forces to the following destinations:- S. No. Route Total flights per year 1. Delhi-Leh-Delhi 260 2. Delhi-Srinagar-Delhi •208 3. Delhi-Thoise-Delhi 104 4. Kolkata-Imphal-Kolkata 52 5. Chennai-Kolkata-Port Blair and Back 24 TOTAL: 648 These flights are expected to reduce travel time and reduce stress of the troops.             This information was given by Defence Minister Shri AK Antony in a written reply to Shri Motilal Vora and Shri SatyavratChaturvedi in Rajya Sabha today.
