In a good news for its seven lakh employees and three lakh pensioners, the Rajasthan government today raised their Dearness Allowance (DA) by 7 per cent with effect from July 1. The DA, which at present is 51 per cent will now be 58 per cent of the basic salary, an official said, adding that it would put an additional burden of Rs 875 crore on the state exchequer annually. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave nod to the increase in DA soon after the hike was announcement for central government employees.
