Drawing inspiration from Gandhian Anna Hazare, Rajapur's Block Development Officer (BDO), R C Jhalania, had announced his intention to go on fast against corruption in government departments sometime back, following which he was suspended.
"I am inspired by Hazare to fight against corruption. I am undeterred by my suspension and come what may, I am going on fast," Jhalania said.
He said his aim was to turn his struggle into a peoples' movement against corruption which is "deep-rooted, starting from the secretariat to lower level."
Jhalani was here to cobble up support for his protest.
