There is no proposal to include the retired Public Sector employees in the ESI scheme. Insured persons covered under ESI scheme who retire after attaining the age of superannuation are provided medical care for self and spouse on payment of Rs. 120/- per annum subject to five years of insurable employment or more before retirement
This information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Labour & Employment Shri Harish Rawat in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today
